Letter to Gordon Brown PM about equality bill

without comments

Hi PM and sarah teather

I would like to have an equality bill to include a sentence to rule out the questioning of the length of time a person has been employed by one employer when looking for another job ie that you have only working in your last company for a month for example and also being unemployed for a long time should not be a factor to stop a person re-employed especially in a recession .

This will help get rid of discrimination where a candidate is favoured due to personal opinion of prospective employer or recruitment agency  against a person who is not favoured due to a discriminatory factor whether that factor is a  person looks, race, religion, age etc.

I would like the equality bill to take in to account all of things i have said in this email as it should be equality for all.

This will remove stupid rubbish questioning which is only done to stop a person leaving or hinder his/her application for a job and get back to work.

I ask the government to help people back to work and get rid of discrimination in applying for jobs whether at recruitment agencies or employment firms.

I have found cases people who only worked a couple of weeks got jobs elsewhere when other ppl due to race have been turned away. You will find out this is true in employment market.

The only factor that should be looked at by a prospective employer is whether qualification and experience matches the requirement for the jobs. The police checks and references can be taken for final candidates to weed those who should not get the job. References as those listed on the cv of applicant and not the current employer .

thanks
