Marriage in punjab and pakistan suggestions

without comments

Salam

eid mubarak to everyone in punjab and pakistan and the cm of punjab and his brother

I want to raise issue of 10pm weddings not being allowed according to the news article.

My suggestions for weddings regulations are as follows:

1 – food serving to be given to guests by 10pm to help ppl eat and get home with problems of late night driving, street lighting and clearing the shaadi halls of people as safely as possible.

2- marriage halls to be closed by 1am on nights of weddings to ensure weddings do not drag on until 3am and ensure ppl get food during day of the wedding at the shaadi hall and guests can leave wedding early to ease burden on traffic and get people home safely and clean up shaadi halls and area around is also important.

3- No gun firings at weddings as guests or bypassers or couple might get injured in the shooting.

4- maher regulations to be strictly observed (see 5)

5 – All marriages to be registered with approved maulvis and registered with government prior to wedding at shaadi hall to make sure maher and or any dowry are registered in case of any divorce or dispute.

Salam to gilgit baltistan

without comments

salam to gilgit baltistan and your paper With strange repeat headline from october being played out in november for gilgit baltistan. Did anyone in the election commission of pakistan wonder why the polls were being held early in october 2009. My belief is that the parties in pakistan (not the governing party) were not supposed to be part of the election would not get their message across to the ppl in gilgit baltistan during the shortened election period. That area should have full rights in pakistan constitution, the area should provincial status, the failure to give it any rights will cause trouble later and set the ground for a similar waziristan problem. If the government allow areas to have different rules to other areas such gilgit baltistan and fata they will only breed problems for themselves and other parties as well. So with the current gilgit baltistan results favouring the ppp is not obvious to them to make the area a full province to get the seats in parliament and have the same laws as the rest of the country. eid mubarak to ppl in gilgit baltistan and good luck for your full provincial status in this parliament’s term. allah hafiz salman jafri

labour selection procedures 2009 suggestion

without comments

Labour party suggestions for changes of party procedure for mp selection – 2009 version.
Party changes i believe are necessary to cut cost of selection to be a ppc and eventually to become a labour party mp.
I have asked the labour party to change the rules of selection of ppc for a labour seat.
The current rules mean at least 4 visits if a candidate chooses to meet people before nomination to get a nomination.
You go to meet the people at the clp prior to getting on shortlisting stage  to get a nomination which is pathetic.
The cost of 4 trips is around £500 in travel costs
The nomination procedure should be dropped to allow any labour party member to become a ppc if they have been a member of the party for at least a year. So if you are a member in london and you want to stand in birmingham , you can apply knowing that you will have to give a speech and send emails and campaign literature to clp members there before the 1st vote off.
The person will know they are getting 1st stage of the clp, they will concentrate on winning people over in the clp before 1st stage meeting and vote off.
This will ensure nomination and also allow new people into labour mp selection procedure which would halt someone getting through to the current interview stage.
By ditching the interview stage as all candidates have been interviewed by labour party nec committee unless exceptional circumstances like death threat/hostage taking etc.
The procedure will cost less to elect a ppc to labour, less time wasting for clp and less money wasted by candidates.
This allows people from deprived backgrounds and those who are not wealthy a chance to have opportunity to become a labour mp
Prior to the 1st stage vote, candidates will complete questions from the labour party clp members about their views on various issues. Members will sent the answers of their questions and Labour HQ to ensure that procedure is fair and the HQ will have the views of members who want to be mps and can speak to  any  person who might be breaking labour party rules in terms of policy of discrimination, race, religion etc.
This will get them support for 1st stage vote.
The main aim is to keep costs down for candidates and clp so the candidates can apply elsewhere if they fail to get selected, clp are lower thanks to less meetings.
Emails from candidates should be distributed by ward secretaries to members.
Also candidates should be encouraged to send emails to be given out if they cannot afford to travel or have prior engagement or cannot travel due to their situation.
My belief is a simple vote off in 1st stage meeting will give the shortlisted candidates for the final hustings. This is a shortlisting method instead of interviews based on popular support within the clp.
The final voting is where those who are behind in the first stage can get more votes by contacting people .  Husting vote can mean a different winner then 1st stage meeting.
Labour should use AV or AVS like in perth preference for people in 1st and 2nd stage.
Also times of selection, labour should try to schedule the final hustings and 1st stage at weekends and bank holidays to ensure people can get to a location and back home same day to avoid incidents were a candidate is attacked in a overnight train or in a cab or elsewhere.
Candidates should be encouraged to plan ahead of the meetings and ask to stay in hotels recommended by the clp if they cannot back same day.
The purpose is to ensure as many labour party members take part, people from all walks of life become members of the party and no restrictions due to personal circumstances.
update based on darlington
on receipt of email saying person interested in seat – secretary acknowledges receipt of application
on closing date – all documents sent out by email and post if necessary requested.
all constituencies send out list of contacts to pass emails to email for campaign to get votes
questions from constituencies are sent out after closing date to all candidates.
closing date of answers us 10 days from date sent out by email or fax or post or  posted on constituency website – a general copy of all should be posted on the constituencies website of questions, procedure and rules and contacts for nomination process or membersnet for constituency.
If candidates fails 1st round of vote – a result email/letter/post on constituencies website or membersnet sent out to all candidates copies sent in labour head office.
2nd round same procedure followed as 1st round.

South waziristan ko salam

without comments

salam South Waziristan

I think that the pakistan army should look at whether ttp are doing ambush tactics or they have slipped out of the area once the operation is complete. If ttp have gone to north waziristan or whether they decided to battle the pakistan army at a certain location the pakistan army should look at problems that they will get if these ppl have left the area. South waziristan needs proper roads like all of fata to connect it to pakistan properly. The area needs development work and its needs to be run by a governor, cm and assembly which nwfp province can provide and have local representatives as in local govt system. The govt must end the tribal agency governance method by tribal agency administrators and shift all of fata to provincial level governance with local govt system to back it up. The federal government have an opportunity as soon as this ttp operation ends to fix what they and other previous govt did not by changing the lives of ppl in these areas for the good of all pakistan to make sure that you have an area where mehsuds are hostile to pakistan or taken advantage of by people have only one purpose in mind for that tribe and ppl of the area. I strongly urge the government to make fata part of nwfp as quickly by presidential order before president zardari gives up his power once the operation is finished Gilgit baltistan or gilgit balistan should become a full province with mnas, senators and local government system. Those ppl in gilgit should take the chance of the elections to change their life and try to vote for ppl who will help gilgit and get them full rights in pakistan which come with provincial status. People in gilgit have the chance to end their local problems in their area and end their problems in terms of status as citizens of pakistan with full instead of partial status of a province. allah hafiz salman jafri

Jinnah’s version of Pakistan

without comments

salam
i think the only way you will ever get a revolution in pakistan is if the younger generation of pakistan become members of pakistan national assembly and are leaders of the parties which have the support of the masses unless changes are made to the constitution that wont happen.
As for parts of jinnah’s speech, pmlq were going to make changes to the pakistan constitution by inserting the  jinnah quote into the pakistan constitution referring to the state and religion.
If you look at the constitution, none of jinnah quotes are actually in the pakistan constitution and neither is his original constitution which is mentioned in conversation in fatima jinnah’s book.
So while these politicians go on about nro and other matters which are only debated such as article 6 to help fill in time instead of real issues that affect people in that country , people in country continue to put up with rubbish that goes on in politics.
In 1990s, most of jail sentences were as a result of political problems between parties and i am sure ppl were involved in various scandals and never convicted because they left pakistan or died in 1990s.
If you watch geo tv band file, the yellow taxi scheme failure, double shah scam, failure of thar coal project several times and other such amazing stories you will see the story of pakistan and various scandals.
There are several political marriages such as that of ppp and anp, that of 2008 marriage between ppp and pmln and that currently between the mqm and the ppp which are due to necessity pakistan current problems with loans, terrorism, stupid people from uk and us who have nothing to do with pakistan and not even of pakistani origin i am excluding politicians of those countries who would take an interest in the country due to constituents and policy in asia in terms of afghanistan, iran, kashmir, india and china .
Most of these political marriages are as fragile as biscuit in tea although if you try sooper biscuit always tasty in tea dipping that will hold together for a bit.
Anyway some people have strange views about joining political parties based on marriages when in reality politics is not about marrying some girl in another party so you can join her party.
Also cowasjee wasn’t musharraf the attaturk you were after as you have said in dawn.
How quickly do people in pakistan forget the only reason why people refer to attaturk is because of the ex-president and his previous history in turkey.
I dont understand why people say attaturk when parties base their policies in pakistan on jinnah and allama iqbal.
Jinnah’s state and religion speech and is similiar to attaturk’s turkey.
Jinnah’s speech on august 11 1947
“You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place or worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the State. As you know, history shows that in England, conditions, some time ago, were much worse than those prevailing in India today. The Roman Catholics and the Protestants persecuted each other. Even now there are some States in existence where there are discriminations made and bars imposed against a particular class. Thank God, we are not starting in those days. We are starting in the days where there is no discrimination, no distinction between one community and another, no discrimination between one caste or creed and another. We are starting with this fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of one State.”

march 1 1924: Attaturk’s speech :
“There is a need to separate Islam from its traditional place in politics and to elevate it in its appropriate place. This is necessary for both the nation’s worldly and spiritual happiness. We have to urgently and definitively relieve our sacred and holy beliefs and values from the dark and uncertain stage of political greed and of politics. This is the only way to elevate the Muslim religion”.

All new politicians come in politics with new intentions but they hardly ever fulfill them in pakistan or elsewhere see benazir bhutto, nawaz sharif, musharraf and imran khan.
None of these people were able to carry out their policies in pakistan before political problems hit them or external events such as 9/11, various death threats, bombings and 58(2)b and lack of general push to support a party that has one main figure.
Political parties always stop people in their aims of changing things in their own party by internal pressure or by people who say they support when really they passing through to the next government whether under military rule or not. I expect the current pm to have problems if he wanted to change things in terms of  taxing offshore bank accounts and stock exchanges from people who are not even in his party but want to pretend to be.
If you sent the ex-president of pakistan letters telling him not to sell psm as basically the company is worth a lot more as it will always get contracts for steel from pakistan and it has enough assets to make it worth more than what someone pays for it then someone can make profits on it as long as it does not stay in govt hands.
Also the current govt in terms of request to lower ages of mna and presidency to get more young ppl into politics, charity donations on line via the pakistan govt, also changes to health laws to lessen expenses on drugs , use of pakistan’s resources in terms of biofuel oil, gas and solar and coal instead of heavy import of oil and local government system should have carried on but sadly none of these requests ever will get put into practice.  The lg system is used as a joke in terms of elections to be held for it basically its just played around with purely for positioning of a pakistan election next to a british election.
Food prices go up can come donw by buying in bulk from these chak shehzade type places, you have houses where people are told to farm and produce farm products why not use that land  for the utility stores,  the model should the uae companies buying land for farming to sell farm goods back to the uae .
The govt can take a percentage in sales after production from utility stores of farm produce from land that is available for chak shehzade type farming and tell these smaller shops in karachi, rawalpindi, islamabad, hyderabad, multan, peshawar and quetta and gwadar to form co-ops  and buy from warehouses/cash&cash carry and wholesale markets at lower prices for goods to pass on to consumers and allow supermarkets to build in places where poor people can get to them without a car.
Also the current massive loans – the country is not in a recession why cant the govt cut back on waste in their govt by not spending on oil imports and relying more on domestically produced fuel such as ethanol 10 and jalthorpa fuel.
Car/ truck / lorry manufacturers in pakistan should get a lower gst tax rate to boost production and get rid of old vehicles in pakistan which are not fit to be on the road, this will increase jobs, production and money into pakistan govt coffers. This will also increase demand for cars/trucks/lorry and supply of cars/lorries/cars and premium mark up on cars.
The case in pakistan will always be that  until people in that country see that their country has not properly thought thorough issues in terms of loans, energy, food prices, poverty, jobs, education , terrorism next door in afghanistan, lack of development in nwfp, rural area, balochistan, fata, gilgit balistan, kashmir (should be dealt with full responsibility given to ajk govt more responsibility for development and looking to ensure there part of kashmir is not used for any rubbish), education of students to get into university  and how pakistan can get out of these problems.
Another thing the expectation towards the bhutto zardaris will be very high and i like other ppl will able to see parallel with another person called bhutto. If they can ever do what they want in power remains to be seen in terms of delivering on any changes.
Also when you slam doors it does not mean anything to anyone so dont shut ppl out of politics in pakistan.
The “make a sacrifice” request by altaf hussain as leader of the mqm, of course president zardari should give money for qurbani for various charities to help poor people fulfill religious obligations and also at same time help in a political sacrifice by allowing local government election to take place asap.
Also with religious minorities quota for jobs or education would help get out poverty and adult literacy help would help those ppl more in terms of jobs and also government workers on lower grade who have no education or little should be helped by the government get literature so they can earn in the service of pakistan and get higher positions they thought possible.
